The history of Restaurante Ramires dates back to 1964, when José Carlos Ramires opened a small café in the parish of Guia (Albufeira, Algarve). Quickly, Ramires’ barbecue chicken became very popular, gaining an increasing number of customers and friends. Thus, the space grew to other parts of the country, more specifically to Ponta Delgada (São Miguel, Azores).

“We had a reservation for 8 people, however a few more friends showed up, making a total of 12. The head of the room (Mrs. Sónia) was very kind and made herself available and made an effort to arrange extra seats, even with the restaurant full! Overall the service was great and the food very good at an affordable price. I advise you to try the spicy wings, they are spectacular! Good experience and to repeat in a next gathering!”

“Restaurant with amazing food. The chicken is simply delicious, the best there is in the Azores, especially served with a spicy sauce. Great variety of wines and very good homemade desserts to end the meal in a big way”
